Unissued State of Connecticut Treasury Office Certificate -Uncirculated
A wonderful piece of Connecticut history, these certificates certified the transfer of old notes for new notes. This was clearly signed in advance but by Treasurer Jedediah Huntington, who found fame as an American general in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Jedediah Huntington was a childhood friend of the infamous Revolutionary War traitor, Benedict Arnold. This document exhibits a rare, complete watermark that is not commonly observed on colonial notes as most are cut and seperated when issued. This is the only complete unissued transfer certificate this cataloguer has handled and will make a nice addition to any revolutionary period collection. Uncirculated and fully embossed.
