This is not just a printing plate but a work or art displaying a group of excited wild horses in an excited state. Animal motifs are very popular with Horse motifs being especially sought after. This plate traces its pedigree to the March 20, 2007 Stacks “The Brooklyn” sale in Baltimore Maryland.  This vignette was used on the $2 Notes for the Bank of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin (Haxby WI-660, G4) which is only listed in Proof format.
