Handwritten Pay Table Office notes from Connecticut are rare but this one is especially rare due to the very clear watermark with a very appealing animal mythical motif. The mark is a variation of the Pro Patria watermark of the United Dutch Republics the bottom half of a heraldic lion standing upright, holding arrows, with a Maid of Dort in an encircled fence. Made out in the amount of 10 Shilling 7 Pence. Signed by John Lawrence, Eliza Wales and Oliver Wolcott,
